Urban Homeless & PWD Empowerment

Overview

Our urban initiatives address the unique vulnerabilities of homeless populations and persons with disabilities, ensuring their access to basic services, rights, and rehabilitation opportunities.

Key Interventions

• Survey and documentation in 11 hotspots of Dhanbad in collaboration with IGSSS
• Surveyed 820 families for accessing Government schemes
• Facilitation of Ration cards, Aadhar, and other identity documents
• Awareness camps on disability rights and available services
• Rehabilitation of PWD children based on community demand
• Coordination with Childline 1098 for PWD child protection cases

Impact & Outcomes

• Improved access to government welfare schemes for homeless families
• Enhanced documentation and identity proof for marginalized urban populations
• Better awareness of disability rights in communities
• Successful rehabilitation of several PWD children
• Strengthened linkages between urban homeless and social services
• Advocacy for inclusive urban development policies
